Cream Cheese Frosting
This decadent frosting is the perfect topping for Sweet Rolls! It’s absolutely rich and creamy! This recipe will frost two dozen rolls.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened*
- 1 ½ cups butter softened (3 sticks)**
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 lbs. powdered sugar
- 1-2 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
- With electric mixer, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar. Add just enough milk for desired consistency. Frosting should be a creamy, whipped texture.
Notes
- *use 8 ounces of cream cheese if you like a rich cream cheese flavor
- **use salted or unsalted butter, depending on your preference
- Frosting Sweet Rolls while still warm will result in a more glazed topping. Waiting to frost until they have completely cooled will give you a whipped, creamy topping.
- Store in refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for up to two months. Allow to come to room temperature before frosting.
